Legal protection of the child within the intercountry adpotion proceeding

6 ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH The International Adoption has been introduced to the Czech law in a greater extent, in 2000, when the Czech Republic acceded to the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of intercountry Adoptions (1993). The Czech Republic currently provides a relatively large number of children each year for intercountry adoption to another contracting state. Nonetheless, no complex scientific publication on intercountry adoption does not exist in the Czech Republic so far, as most of the authors of expert's articles, textbooks or commentaries continue to perceive the intercountry adoption only as a marginal complement to adoption on national basis. International adoption pursues the same objective as adoption on national, namely, to find suitable new parents for the child, always in accordance with the child's best interests. However, international adoption is much more complex, as cooperation between several administrative authorities in the Czech Republic is not sufficient to effectively protect the rights and interests of the adopted child, but it is necessary to ensure mutual cooperation between administrative authorities in two sovereign states. The issue of international adoption of children

The issue of international adoption of children is a more discussed theme in the world than it is in the Czech Republic. The presented bachelor thesis introduces the theoretical knowledge from the process of international adoption in the Czech Republic. At the same time, the legislative regulation of this institute is described, where the most important international legal document is the Convention on the Protection of Children and Cooperation in International Adoption, is described here, The brief description defines the issue of international adoption. The aim of this part of the bachelor thesis is to acquaint the reader with the basic facts in the process of international adoption from the Czech Republic and to the Czech Republic. The research part highlights the issue of international adoption through the eyes of a staff member of the Office for International Adoption located in Brno compared to the view of the employee of the Children's Center of the South Bohemian Region, o.p. The Office for International Adoption is the only institution in the Czech Republic dealing with the agenda of international adoption. The Children's Center is in the contact with a child who is placed in the device and is selected for international adoption. The methodological part consists of qualitative research, which was realized through the use of the interview with instructions. Through it, problems were identified in the process of international adoption from the point of view of the workers dealing in this issue. It has been found that the process of international adoption is not perceived as problematic, but the individual steps leading to adoption are. The determination of when the child is adoptable is considered the biggest problem. Children often lack the necessary documentation such as an individual child protection plan or important work with family. The overall process of international adoption is perceived as a very well-set system. This bachelor's thesis can serve as an integral structured description of international adoption. Through its research it can provide valuable advice for expanding this issue.

The aim of this thesis is to introduce international adoption issues in Republic of Korea and reintegration of Korean adoptees to Korean society. The first part focuses on history of international adoptions in Republic of Korea, the second part introduces individual reintegration programs of governmental and non-governmental agencies. The third part deals with media and Korean society and government's stance.
Intercountry adoptions from Uganda

The thesis is devoted to the issue of interracial adoption, when Ugandan child lives in the Czech adoptive family. The aim is to focus on the ethical aspect of interracial adoptions. Attempts to find out whether this type of adoption is really in the best interests of the child. The first part of the thesis provides general background information about Uganda as a country of origin of children. Describes historical development and socio-economic situation of the country, the issue of HIV/AIDS and information about orphan and abandoned children. The second part describes the process of international adoption, both generally and on the part of both participating countries, namely Uganda and the Czech Republic. The third part deals with the ethical side of the adoption. Aim is to find out how the circumstances of the interracial adoption can affect the adoptive family and the future development of the child, how they cope with the racism and discrimination and questions about childs identity. This part is based on surveys, studies and interviews with adoptive parents and their adopted children.
